Mirror Box is a series of playful experiments that indulge the fascination with bathroom-mirror reflections that go on forever. Video cameras, small and numerous, allow for multiple views and meta-perspectives within the boundless space of a six-sided mirrored box.
More fun still can be had with triangular prisms that create an altogether different appearance of infinity, and when combined with the endless sandwich of closed-circuit video,* the results are somewhat surprising.
The window exhibit at Roadside Attractions for the next 5 weeks will contain video mirror devices that allow for interactivity with passers-by who will find images of themselves segmented and multiplied in endless ways and innumerable times. Come with a friend and take turns being seen. Video documentation of developmental stages for Mirror Box will also be screening in the window exhibit.
For those who can't make it to see the window display, follow the links below for a taste of the fun.
