Why so much on this site is broken and doesn't work

FLASH

Unfortunately, many years ago, when I started to build this site, the program I used to create and post my videos online was Flash, which is a program that is now blocked by most web browsers. I'm not sure why it's blocked but it's probably because Flash has been used too often to spread computer viruses.

Most of the work in recent years is now posted to Vimeo, which anyone can see on any browser. And anything new added to this site is Flash Free, but the old archives are still available on this site in the original Flash format. If you really want to view this site, as it was intended to be seen, you can undo the blocking feature on your browser, but please do so at your own risk. Or, you can just use an old computer and an early version of a web browser.

I am very slowly rebuilding and reposting the old work, changing the flash videos to gif. It's going to take a long time. Today I took this page: and rebuilt it here. It took me all morning to rebuilt it (including the time it took to build this page, the one you're reading now). I do this mostly by hand-coding, and it cane take me a long time... As I add and fix these files I will add to the updated list below....

And now this:

Adobe Flash Player EOL

HTML Decay

.....Actually, now that I think about it, there are other aspects of my site that don't work anymore too, for a very different reason from the one above, having to do with how browser technology and the internet has changed since some of this work was posted. I am thinking here of the area of my work I call HTML Decay. I've started trying to explain what this is about in describing one early work called Music Reader, here:

It would be best to show you these differences rather than to just use words. But to do so I would have to be able to show you my site using an older computer with an older version of a web browser, and then compare that to how my behaves differently on a newer computer with a newer browser.

Thank you for your patience and understanding
